WyoFOTO Teton Landscape Workshop |
June 8 - June 14, 2008
An exclusive six day field workshop to Grand Teton National Park
|
Opened to 8 participants maximum. |
A maxiumum of 4 participants per instructor! |
 |
We didn't sleep in..., Grand Teton NP |
|
Our workshop will be based near Moran Junction at the edge of Grand Teton National Park. We will be located within 5 to 15 miles drive from some of the most breathtaking mountain views on the face of the North American continent. We will be there at a time of change. The high mountain snows are melting, the wildflowers are blooming, and the transition from the long mountain winter to summer has begun. |
| The extremely low student to instructor ratio of 4 to 1 will allow us to do things other larger workshops cannot. As well as visiting the traditional Teton icons such as Oxbow Bend together, we will often break up into two smaller groups. This compact size will allow us to journey to lesser known spots that simply cannot accomodate the large groups that traditional workshops create. It will also insure that you get the help you need to capture some unique images. |
Small size will also give us tremendous flexability. Spring is the time of rebirth in the natural world. Side trips to Yellowstone National Park to photograph wildlife and their newborn within the park are possible, if there is enough interest. |

|
Pressing the shutter has always been the first step in creating a great image. The second step occurred in the darkroom. Here the masters of photography would take a negative and give it life in the form of a print.
The digital darkroom has replaced the chemical darkroom for most of us. It is here that your final vision must be fulfilled. We will have several afternoon sessions devoted to helping you turn your initial capture into the print you had invisioned. Adobe Photoshop will be our tool of choice in this endeavour. |
About the Instructors |
| Your instructors will be Miles Hecker and Barry Horn. |

He has done digital printing for well known fine art landscape photographers. |
| Barry has been involved with photography for over 50 years. Barry was a wildlife photographer and author of many articles for Wyoming Wildlife magazine between 1990-1995. His experience includes being a hunting outfitter and a past owner of Brooks Lake Lodge. His knowledge of Wyoming wildlife and its environment is exceptional. |
| Between the two instructors, you will have access to over 80 years experience in Wyoming landscape and nature photography. |

About the Place |
The Tetons are home to more landscape photography icons than almost any location in North America. They include Moulton's Barn, Oxbow Bend, Schwabachers' Landing, and Snake River Overlook. We will visit some of these, as well as other less well known spots. Weather conditions and participant feedback will dictate our shooting locations. We will attempt to give you the best photographic experience possible. |
Who Is This Trip For? |
It's for individuals or couples with a passion for landscape photography. |
It's for people that want to work hard with a small cohesive group rather than be part of a crowd. |
It's for people that want to better learn the art of "seeing" the landscape and the light interacting with it. |
Who Is This Trip Not For? |
People who believe just one more lens or camera will get them the perfect shot. |
People who like to sleep in. We get up at 4:30AM and get on the road quickly to find the best light. |
People who think making a great image is all about being lucky. |
